2022 Africa Webinar
Quality & Safety Healthcare Systems
African countries need to build health systems that are capable of adapting to challenges as they come already (climate change, water challenges, energy challenges). The healthcare systems the continent should be able to adapt and evolve to challenges as they manifest.
When looking at the question of providing access to healthcare & discussing the quality of access, which should be included in country’s standards, authorities need to look at:
- Access of the patient to the service of care
-Access of the service to the patient (home care, telemedicine…)
-Affordability & efficiency
African countries need to make sure that you have in their system, the right clinical healthcare professionals, using the right methodology, dealing with the right patients in the right time in the right facilities, the right accountability, align with the right measures related to clinical safety, clinical patient safety, clinical patient experience, and clinical outcomes.
- This is mentioned as the Clinical Excellence Framework.
